Why you should use WordPress as your Ecommerce Platform

June 17, 2014 by Jennyfer Tan 2 Comments

There are a lot of ways you can start your eCommerce business nowadays.  Magento, Zencart, Opencart are the heavy hitters of ecommerce, and then there’s Shopify, which is gaining grounds on popularity.

WordPress is and may always be associated with blogging, but again, I have to stress it out that it is a powerful Content Management System (CMS) and it is not JUST for blogging, creating an eCommerce site on WordPress is definitely very possible, in fact, in my opinion, is the easiest to set up.

Check out the other advantages of using WordPress as your eCommerce platform and my recommended plugin + themes for it.

I’ve had clients come to me to optimize Shopify sites. I have yet to work on WP ecommerce – but I like the fact that they have an easy to use schema plugin (all-in-one-schema.org Rich Snippets) bec this will definitely remove my headaches in implementing markups 🙂

oh yes! there’s a plugin for everything with WP, that’s one of the things I love about WordPress, makes life easier! 🙂 Genesis framework as a better schema function than most themes, I think, based on the reviews that I’ve read and personal feedback from users.
